Scribblings found on a notepad, immediately following Koar Inc.'s Monday morning staff meeting.

Who am I?

I'm no superhero (superheroine).

Well, sure I can dodge a speeding bullet. But it wears me out; after about five, I fall down on my own.

I've never saved anyone from a burning building. There was that nice family of demons I pulled from a burning mobile home. But heroines aren't supposed to rescue demons, are they?

I do live a dual life. By day I'm a mild-mannered project manager. But night, an ass-kicking paranormal operative, employed by a vampire cartel. Okay, so that's a lie. The "ass-kicking" part, anyway. Given a choice, I'd rather skip any kind of kicking and go straight to "Let's discuss the problem over a carton of Hagen Daas."

Dad is a half-elf turned vampire. Mom was a human with elven ancestry. In somebody's Big Book of Prophecy, I'm the Improbable Child. If I screw up another Brethren assignment, my name will be Mud.

My name is Morrigan Siobhan O'Connell. But you can call me Regan...the un-superheroine.
